The Stella Maris Institute of Management and Technology successfully organized a programme to commemorate International Antidrug Day 2025 on 30th June. The event aimed to raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse and promote a healthy lifestyle among students and the community. The programme featured a diverse range of speakers and participants, including students, faculty members, and community leaders.
The event began with a prayer led by Rashina K A, a BCA student, followed by a welcome speech by Rev. Fr. Ebenezer KattIparambil, Assistant Manager at Stella Maris College. The programme inaugurated Rev. Fr. Nimesh Augustine Kattassery, Director of KIDS, Kottapuram, who provided insights into the impact of drug abuse on individuals and society while Mrs. Preethi Francis, Principal in Charge of Stella Maris, led the pledge. Additionally, Mrs. Brijeena M.S, Instructor in KIDS ITI, offered felicitations, and Ms. Anna Elizabeth, a B.Sc AFM student, delivered the vote of thanks. The programme concluded with an anti-drugs awareness class led by Sri. Jithin M P, CEO in Irinjalakuda Division Excise Office. Overall, the programme successfully educated and sensitized the audience about the risks associated with drug abuse and promoted a drug-free lifestyle.
